Kenny G

Live at Montreux 1987/1988 DVD

Review by Gary Hill

This DVD features two live performances from Kenny G on one DVD. The song selection is about half repeats from one to another, but both shows features strong performances from G and his band. Despite what many say, I really like Kenny G’s brand of jazz. Sure, it’s not the smoking hot improvisationally rich music of a Miles Davis or John Coltrane, but it’s very entertaining. The video quality isn’t quite up to modern standards, but the sound is good. All in all, this is a cool release, those.
