 Paul Rodgers
and Friends - Live at Montreux 1994 DVD
 Review by Gary Hill

I’ve got to admit to something that might be considered by some to be sacrilege. While I like some Bad Company and Free songs, I’ve never liked the voice of Paul Rodgers. So, I come at this one with a bit of a negative bias. So, it should really say a lot when I reveal that it’s a great performance. For my money, it’s the musicians playing with Rodgers (Jason Bonham, Neal Schon, John Smithson along with guests Brian May, Steve Lukather, Eddie Kirkland, Sherman Robertson and Luther Allison) along with the fine selection of music (working between rock and blues) that sells this, despite Rodgers’ voice. The video and audio quality are both quite good. This is heartily recommended to fans of Rodgers, but, obviously it has appeal outside that group of people, too.
