Recorded at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2011, this BluRay captures Carlos Santana creating the kind of music he wants to create.  And, you might say he's just performing, not creating, but really, it's a little bit of both because it feels like the music itself is often being created right on stage rather than just reproduced. If you are looking for the type of stuff he did with his first few albums, you’ll probably be disappointed. I mean, this is the 21st Century and it’s a safe bet you aren’t the same person you were in 1970 and aren’t doing the same thing you were. If that’s so, why should you expect Carlos Santana to be stuck in 1970? The truth is, he’s a very talented musician and has chosen to follow his muse wherever it leads. That’s created a rich and diverse catalog of music, and he draws upon that in this performance. He and the band are on fire and work through a wide range of sounds and styles. It’s all captured with exceptional video and audio quality. This is a great set and really showcases what a unique talent Carlos Santana is.
