Elvis Costello

Detour Live at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall DVD

Review by Gary Hill

Not everyone got to see Elvis Costello on this tour. I know I did not see him in person. After seeing this video, I almost feel like I did. That said, I know watching a concert at home is not really the same thing. The sound quality and video here are great, though. That makes this work really well in conveying the concert experience. I’d highly recommend this to fans of Costello, whether you caught the tour (or even this show) or not. It’s the next best thing to having been there. It also has one big advantage over the actual concert, too. You can experience it many times.
