Judy Collins

Love Letter To Sondheim DVD

Review by Gary Hill

In this concert Judy Collins paid special attention to the music of Stephen Sondheim through his songs and some words about those songs. She's backed up by a symphony orchestra. This is a lavish production in a lot of ways. The video and audio quality are both exceptional Collins' voice is still sparkling and beautiful. This is not really folk music, but not really show music. It's almost classical in a lot of ways. There are two bonus features, about five minutes of rehearsal footage and a nine minute (or so) interview. This is highly recommended to any fans of Judy Collins.
