L.A.M.F.
Live At Bowery Electric DVD
Review by Gary Hill
Walter Lure is the only surviving member of Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers. L.A.M.F. takes its name from the title of their 1977 album. Lure has assembled a band with Clem Burke of Blondie fame, Tommy Stinson (The Replacements) and Wayne Kramer of the MC5.
This live DVD captures them performing that classic album in its entirety. The video and audio are both quite good on this. There are some cool guest performers including Cheetah Chrome. This is a smoking hot punk rock performance and it's captured well. The one complaint is that this is pretty short. The whole DVD is about an hour long with over twenty minutes of that devoted to interviews. Still, this is well worth having.
