Gordon Lightfoot

If You Could Read My Mind DVD

Review by Gary Hill

I am a huge fan of Gordon Lightfoot. I got to see him live and meet him a little over a decade ago. So, I came into this documentary with high expectations. I have to say that those expectations were not only met, but exceeded.

This is a career spanning documentary from a few years ago. It features a lot of interviews, many with Lightfoot himself. It presents his life, warts and all. It includes lots of his music.

Lightfoot is one of the best folk artists ever, in my opinion. So, the exploration of his music and songwriting really showcases his influence and his art. If you have ever been a fan of Gordon Lightfoot you will love this. It would also serve as a great introduction to this artist and his art.
