Nils Lofgren

Cry Tough DVD

Review by Gary Hill

This is a pretty cool set. It has three separate performances by Nils Lofgren on the “Rockpalast” show. All three performances are hot. The video varies from one to another, though. Of course, video standards over the years have changed. Since the earliest video is from 1976 and the latest 1991, that’s variance is to be expected. When you figure that you get all three shows on two DVDs for less than $20, though, you really can’t complain. This is a great addition to any fan’s collection, but would also be an excellent introduction to the music of Nils Lofgren. The man is a talent who shouldn’t be overlooked and these live performances prove it.
