Lowell George

Feats First: The Life and Music of Lowell George DVD

Review by Gary Hill

This is a fascinating, but not perfect, documentary chronicling the life and times of the late great Lowell George. From his days with Frank Zappa’s Mother’s of Invention, to Little Feat and beyond, this documentary covers it well. When I say that it’s not perfect, I would love to see more early footage. Interviews with the other guys in Little Feat would be great, too. Still, this film manages to tell George’s tale quite well. He was a very talented man, and this is a good tribute and introduction to him.
