This double DVD set from Led Zeppelin was released 20 years ago. I just heard about it for the first time recently and had to get it. Zep is probably the one band I most regret never getting to see live. I actually came close once (had tickets ordered when John Bonham died and the tour was cancelled). I love their albums, but their music really rises to a completely different level in live performance.

This collection has almost four hours of concert footage. There are a lot of extras here, too, but those performances are where the magic happens. Zeppelin were one of the greatest bands of all time. You could just see and hear the passion and commitment in their performances. They were definitely not phoning it in.

The videos here range from 1970 to 1979, and there are songs here I never heard live performances of before. There were moments here that border on religious experiments, and that's on home video. I can't imagine what it must have been like to have been there. We can never experience that, but we can get as close as possible with this amazing collection.
