Delta Deep East Coast Live Review by Gary Hill Phil Collen of Def Leppard assembled this band. The other members of the group are Rob DeLeo, Forrest Robinson and Debbi Blackwell-Cook. The goal of the band is to create an appreciation of the blues. This live set is quite a strong asset in that battle. It's a vital and potent album. Track by Track Review

Black Dog Opener After some opening stage banter, they fire out into a screaming hot rendition of the Zeppelin classic. It's a short version, but a scorching one.

Bang the Lid More stage banter is heard at the start of this hard rocking screamer. It's a winner.

Miss Me This screaming hot rocker has a lot more of a bluesy edge to it. There are things here that call to mind Def Leppard a bit. The chorus is quite catchy.

Treat Her Like Candy A mellower cut, this is very much a blues rocker. I like this a lot.

Black Coffee A stripped back rocker, this has lots of the blues built into it. It reminds me a lot of Montrose, particularly when it gets powered up later.

Burnt Sally/Rock Me This two-fer starts with a full on old school blues number. I love the guitar on this, but the vocals really bring it home, too. The second half of the cut is more killer blues.

Whiskey Combining an old school blues sound on the opening section with harder rocking stuff later, this is a killer cut.

Shuffle Sweet Much more of a mainstream hard rocker, this is a catchy cut. It is fierce and powerful.

Private Number The combination of male and female vocals on this cut works really well. I love the guitar fills on this, too. This is much more of a mainstream blues based hard rocker. It's also very effective.

Bless These Blues Electric blues is the order of business here. This is another screaming hot number.

Down in the Delta There is a bit of a metal edge to this screaming blues rocker. It's one of the highlights of the set.

Mistreated After an extended introduction, they power out into a killer rendition of the old classic Deep Purple tune. This is really the highlight of the set and just plain rocks like crazy. The killer instrumental section really stands tall. The vocal deliveries are classic, too.

Forrest's Drum Solo As advertised, here we get a drum solo.

Feelit A funky jam serves as the backdrop as the members of the band are introduced. The main cut is a classy number that gets some audience participation included in the mix.
