Queensrÿche

Live in Chicago, November 17th, 2001

Review by Gary Hill

During my interview with Geoff Tate he said that they were going to try to do the live album set on this tour. They did not completely fulfill that promise, but indeed served up quite a healthy set from all phases of their career.

The group opened with "NM 156", and followed it up with "Walk In The Shadows" From there we were off on a rock adventure that only Queensryche could deliver. They covered material from every album, and did it in fine fashion. The stage set was fairly rudimentary, but the group made their way around the stage, showing that you don't need a lot of props to make a killer show. All of the members of the group put in fine performances and the choice of material was quite solid. The highlight for this reviewer was the Operation Mindcrime segment, but the encore of "Queen of the Ryche" and "Take Hold of the Flame" really kicked.

The show was a bit brief, but they packed a lot of power into the time that they did play, and I doubt anyone left disappointed.
