Geoff Tate Review by Gary Hill Geoff Tate (the man) is probably best known as the lead singer of Queensryche. "Geoff Tate" (the album) is not likely to be confused with an album by Queensryche. However, why should it be?

Geoff Tate - Live in Chicago, 2002 Review by Gary Hill Yes once sang, "what happened to this song I once knew so well". Geoff Tate and his band did an interesting take on songs we once knew so well from Queensryche.

Queensrÿche - Live Evolution Review by Gary Hill Queensryche has been around for quite some time, but this is their first full live album. When the Operation Livecrime box set was originally released it included a CD of a live performance of the Operation Mindcrime album, but this is more of a real live album.

Queensrÿche - Live in Chicago, IL, June, 2005 Review by Gary Hill One certainly can't complain about Queensryche doing the same set year after year. In fact, if you see The Ryche on more than one tour, the odds are you will see very different sets.

Queensrÿche - Live in Chicago, IL, September, 2006 Review by Greg Olma I was lucky enough to catch one of Queensryche’s 3 shows in Chicago. Billed as the complete Operation Mindcrime saga (Parts I and II) with actors, this was going to be a night of Broadway, Queensryche style.

Queensrÿche - Live in Chicago, July 19, 2003 Review by Gary Hill Queensryche made their way into Chicago touring their new "Tribe" album, arguably their finest disc in years, and the quality of that album seems to have brought a renewed vitality to the band. Indeed, they were in great form as they worked their way through material both old and new.

Queensrÿche - Live in Chicago, May 2009 Review by Greg Olma I have seen Queensryche many times on many tours. The one thing that you can always count on is a show that will be different from any of their other tours.

Queensrÿche - Live in Chicago, November 17th, 2001 Review by Gary Hill During my interview with Geoff Tate he said that they were going to try to do the live album set on this tour. They did not completely fulfill that promise, but indeed served up quite a healthy set from all phases of their career.
Queensrÿche - Live in Hoffman Estates, IL, September, 2007 Review by Greg Olma Queensryche stepped out of the studio to be special guest on the second leg of the Heaven and Hell North American Tour. Being in the studio must have given them the itch to go out and play live in front of an audience because the original boys from Seattle looked and sounded great.

Queensrÿche - Live In Joliet, IL November, 2009 Review by Greg Olma Queensryche made their way to Joliet, IL for the second leg of their American Soldier tour.Like the first run through, the show consisted of 3 suites from the Rage For Order, American Soldier, and Empire albums. More...
Queensrÿche - Live in Merrillville, IN, October, 2005 Review by Greg Olma Queensryche was continuing their "Back with One Foot in Hell" with a stop at Star Plaza in Merrillville, Indiana. The best thing about this tour was that it was a complete evening of Queensryche music.

Queensrÿche - Live In Milwaukee August 26th, 2000 Review by Gary Hill Many old school Queensryche fans have not been overly pleased with their recent recordings and have been hoping for a return to the older harder sound. If this concert was any indication, the band is listening.

Queensrÿche - Operation Mindcrime Review by Gary Hill This album is a definite masterpiece, and certainly (thus far) the peak of Queensryche`s career artistically. Although definitely a heavy metal album, in many ways Operation Mindcrime is so much more than that.

Queensrÿche - Operation Mindcrime II Review by Gary Hill History - in many ways this album (and this review) is all about history. For my money the first Operation Mindcrime album is a true masterpiece that is unmatched by any album by any artist in terms of power and execution.

Queensrÿche - Promised Land Review by Gary Hill Just to make things clear, I don’t think Queensryche is a progressive rock band. Nor would I put many of their discs into that category. More...
Queensrÿche - Rage For Order Review by Gary Hill Rage for Order, the album directly preceding Operation Mindcrime, certainly shows the potential and directions in which Queensryche was ready to move. Although showing elements of other bands and styles, this album is a very unique and innovative work that foreshadows the stylistic directions that the band were getting ready to undertake.

This remastered and expanded edition includes four bonus tracks. There is one of those that I think was kind of a mistake, but the other three are cool.
I generally like things like this where an album is created by taking the track list of a famous album and having different artists reproduce the songs.
Queensryche - Take Cover Review by Greg Olma Queensryche has always moved forward so when I read that they were releasing a covers record, I was a bit surprised to say the least. I have to say that I was not very enthused by the prospect of listening to a bunch of songs rehashed by one of my all time favorite bands.
Queensrÿche - The Art of Live DVD Review by Gary Hill With their newest live video, the Ryche have set loose a mixed bag on the fans. While the sound is very good on the recording, and much of this is newer material not yet to be recorded live, I have a big problem with sepiatone, washed out old movie look to the video.

Dream Theater - The Dark Side of the Moon Review by Bill Knispel As a way of providing something different and special to their fans, Dream Theater began a series of cover shows in 2002. Whenever the band were scheduled to perform two nights in the same venue/city, they would dedicate part of their second show to a performance of a classic album, covered in its entirety.

Queensrÿche - Tribe Review by Gary Hill This disc is certainly the hardest rocking album the Ryche have come out with in a while, it is their strongest at least since Empire, but I would hazard to say since Operation Mindcrime. That is not to say that this CD is in the vein of that one, it certainly isn't.

Dream Theater continues to release great CDs through their Ytsejam Records label. They have released live discs and demos but this one is kind of odd as it is a compilation of songs from different sources.
