The Damned

Live Live Live in London 2002: Tiki Nightmare DVD

Review by Gary Hill

What an interesting set we’ve got here. These guys really jam. Captain Sensible plays some mean guitar. Patricia Monson is a banshee in motion on bass. Pinch kicks on drums and Monty Oxymoron delivers some unusual keyboard work. Add in Dave Vanian handling the vocals, and The Damned are on stage and on fire. These guys are not for everyone. The vocals are probably the hardest part to take. For those who get it, though, this is quite a great DVD. If you’ve seen them live, this is a great way to relive the experience. If you haven’t, it’s as close as you can get without being in the audience.
