Bob Marley

Uprising Live DVD

Review by Gary Hill

This concert video dates back to 1980. When you consider that Bob Marley died the next year, over-run by cancer, it’s not surprising that he doesn’t look healthy here. The thing is, he still puts in a great performance. This is an incredible show and well worth having. It’s not quite up to modern standards for video and audio quality. Still, it was filmed for television, so it’s quite good. The mix, leaves a bit to be desired for my ears, but just having this makes it all worthwhile. Bob Marley was an amazing performer. While he wasn’t at his best physically here, he still managed to showcase the kind of energy and magic he possessed.
