Take Over and Destroy (TOAD) hails from Tempe, Arizona and has put together this really classic sounding release that has essences of both old school metal blended with newer European black metal.
These guys are getting pushed as a progressive rock band. There are some parts that have prog leanings for sure. I just don't see that label fitting, though.

This band might not be a tight fit under heavy metal. A lot of times they are closer to Nazareth style hard rock. In fact, a lot of this really does sound like Nazareth to me.
Tool quite probably get lumped by many in the Nu-metal category. That fits to a degree, but as this album shows, the group are not good at being tied down to one musical label.
I previously reviewed another set from this act and landed it under heavy metal. I'm putting this set in that category, too, but it could almost fit under progressive rock, as well.
We are not very far into 2003 but we already have a candidate for album of the year. Twelfth Gate and their debut "Summoning" have burst out of nowhere (Chicago, actually) with a furious rush.
Twisted Sister - Live at Wacken The Reunion Review by Greg Olma This CD/DVD set is real value for your money. The DVD is 105 minutes and contains their Wacken performance in 2003 along with a whole host of TV spots and behind the scenes footage.
