Broadcast at 8 PM CST, August 18th, Interview Will Stream Online
August 14th, 2012, Rockford, IL – On Saturday August 18th, Clark Colborn will be interviewed on “The Metal Collection.”
Colborn’s new single (a cover of The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby” and both of his albums (the latest, Again was released earlier this year) will all be open for discussion. One song from Again (“An Imperfect Waltz") will be played before the interview while another ("Aftermath")
will be aired afterward.
At “Wormwood Chronicles” (wormwoodchronicles.com)
Dr. Abner Mality said this about Again, “Clark Colborn plays guitar. That simple statement sums up a lot. In fact, Clark doesn't merely play guitar, he attacks it, he soothes it, he coaxes all manner of sounds from it. The guy is a guitar virtuoso, but much more tasteful than a mere ‘shredder’
who makes the instrument beg for mercy with endless neoclassical arpeggio blasts and brutal polyrhythms.”
At Prognaut.com Chris Erbeck said, “Clark's guitar prowess is evident. The man plays guitar like a journeyman. I could hear echoes of the heavier side of 70's prog,a thread moving throughout that makes me think of Martin Barre on ‘Thick as A Brick’.” In Music Street Journal Larry Toering said of Colborn’s Beatles cover, “His skills are simply unmatched by anyone as he shows how a track like this can actually benefit from his electrifying touch. The symphonic parts are simply gritty, dirty and tasteful, not unlike that of a metal attempt at the track. But the melody finds itself in a somehow more diverse simplicity and naturally more musical effort than metal can deliver. From the opening notes to the last few, it ends right where it left off with a feathery light appeal. In between there are bursts of inspiration at every turn in the arrangement. Colborn is one of the most lyrical guitarists in the business, and he sings on the strings every second of the way.”
The Metal Collection is broadcast every Saturday night (6 PM to Midnight Eastern time) on WRBA-FM and streamed live on the station’s website,
http://959online.com. The host is “Rockin’ Ron” and in addition to the interview he’ll be playing a couple songs from the disc. WRBA is “The Arrow 95.9” and the station is based in Panama City, Florida. In fact, they are known as “Panama City’s Classic Rock” station.
