The Syn Are Generating a Lot of Attention
New Studio Album Trustworks Is Generating Interest on the Internet and Radio
February 25th, 2016, London, UK – With The Syn’s upcoming studio album (Trustworks) scheduled for release late next month, excitement is already building on the Internet and over radio airwaves. Trustworks is a collaboration that features Syn founder Steve Nardelli along with the Swedish progressive rock band Moon Safari. The album is scheduled for release on March 25th with Japanese release one week earlier.
Formed in 1965, The Syn was a precursor of the band Yes, with that band’s former bassist (the late great Chris Squire) as one of the founding members. At various times The Syn has also included Yes alums Peter Banks and Alan White in their lineup. Other acclaimed musicians like Francis Dunnery, Brett Kull and Tom Brislin are also Syn alum. The 2016 version of The Syn features band founder Steve Nardelli joined by renowned Swedish prog rockers Moon Safari. Jonas Reingold of The Flower Kings produced the album.
Two songs from the album, “Revolution Now” and “The Wheel” will be debuted on Aiiradio on Saturday, February 27th. In addition members of the band will be on hand talking and answering questions. The show will start at 1pm EST • 10am PST • 6pm UK • 7pm CET • 8pm EET and can be heard at http://stream.aiiradio.net/.
Trustworks is being featured on quality progressive radio stations around the world and Ray White at Classic Artists Today will feature it throughout March. Cliff “Progzilla” Pearson will be debuting a song from Trustworks on his show (Live from Progzilla Towers) on March 2nd. That show can be heard at http://www.progzilla.com/. It will start at 20:00 GMT, which means 3:00 EST • noon PST • 8 pm UK • 9 pm CET • 11 pm EET
Additionally, a new feature has appeared on the Syn at mwe3.com/archive/pastfeature/featureSyn2016.htm. It includes a new interview with Steve Nardelli by Robert Silverstein. In the interview Nardelli discusses the making of the album and talks about individual songs on the disc.
The first review of Trustworks was recently published at wormwoodchronicles.net/torture-chamber/the-syn-2. In the review, Colonel Angus says, “’Trustworks’ does not disappoint. Although I would categorize The Syn as progressive, their music really harkens back to a style that mixes The Beatles, early Pink Floyd, and early Yes (naturally).” He also said, “Nardelli is the star on ‘Trustworks’. His voice and song writing is what shines making this release a “must buy” for any fans of The Syn or Yes. ‘Trustworks’ will probably last longer than a few weeks in my CD player and I trust it will do the same for you.”
The disc comes less than a year after the critically acclaimed Live:Rosfest CD/DVD combo. Of that, The Progmeister (Progmeister.com) said, “This album gets a whole hearted recommendation and is well worth checking out” At Progarchy (progarchy.com), Paul Watson said, “The Syn were one of the pebbles thrown into the pool that would become Progressive Rock. The music of their time has become the sound of our times and well worth exploring as the band once again moves forward in the 21st century.” From Robert Silverstein of MWE3 (mwe3.com): “Yet another sonic bolt out of the blue by the mercurial Steve Nardelli, The Syn Live Rosfest will do quite nicely until Trustworks reveals the next chapter in the ongoing story of The Syn.”
