Nine Local Authors to Sign Books at Event
815 Author Group Book Signing to Be Held at Katie's Cup
July 26th, 2018, Rockford, Illinois – On September 22nd nine local authors will be signing copies of their books at Katie's Cup in Rockford. Katie's Cup is located at 502 7th Street. In addition to Katie's Cup, the event is being hosted by Digital Ninjas Media, Haunted Rockford and Tales of Wonder and Dread Publishing. The event will run from noon until 2 p.m., and authors will have books available for purchase and will also sign books brought into the event.
One of the authors featured is Heath D. Alberts. He is an author and activist. A native of Rockford, he now resides in Rockton.His book titles include "Terminal Beginning," "Last Rights," "Photographic Memory," "Not On the List," "A Twist Of Fate" He is also a co-founder of Digital Ninjas Media.
Another featured author at the event, Julie Barthels is the author of "I'd Rather Love Life Than Hate Cancer" and the co-author of "Resilience Revolution: A Workbook for Staying Sane in an Insane World." She also writes a blog at idratherlovelifethanhatecancer.com. She is a therapist in private practice in Rockford and when she is not writing, she loves creating art and spending time with family and friends.
Karla Clark is the author of six books—three novels, a book of short stories, and two children's picture books. She has made over 100 visits to local women’s books clubs from 2003-2018, is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Rockford Arts Council, and Chicago Writers’ Association. Karla lives in Rockford, Illinois, with her husband and adult autistic son. When she's not writing, Karla creates decoupage paper collages that she sells at art shows.
Featured author Ernie Fuhr's works of non-fiction have appeared in "Forest City Stories," " Rockford Writes," "Secret Rockford " and "Winning on the North Side: the 1929 Chicago Cubs." He has also written articles for Market Street Press. Fuhr is also a Rockford teacher and along with his wife Stephanie is a proud parent of two tuxedo cats.
Gary Hill is the author of "The Strange Sound of Cthulhu: Music Inspired by the Writings of H.P. Lovecraft," "Poetry of the Air: A Collection of Love Letters from Musicians to Music," "Strange Realities: Collected Short Stories of Gary Hill" and more. Kathi Kresol is a local historian, presenter and author. Her non fiction stories have been included in three joint books: “Forest City Stories,” “ Rockford Writes,” and “Secret Rockford”. She also has two solo publications “Murder and Mayhem in Rockford, Illinois” and “Haunted Rockford, Illinois.” Kathi contributes articles for her column “Voices from the Grave” in the Rock River Times. Annette McLean has written, “The Hands That Feed Me” which is a recovery guide for compulsive eating and co-authored, “ Resilience Revolution, A Workbook for Staying Sane in an Insane World.” She is a psychotherapist in the Rockford area and when she is not working, she is enjoying time creating art and spending time with family.
Sarah Scharnweber's works include the horror novel "Inside Darkness" and short story collection "Suggestion 376." She writes from her home in Rockford, where she lives with her husband, daughter and two cats.
Dustin Urness has written works of horror that include the illustrated collection "Disturbing Tales of Anguish and Horror" and the standalone novella "The Killer Grins." Dustin was featured in Gary Hill's "Dark Dreams and Weird Worlds" collection of horror and science fiction stories.
