The Syn’s Trustworks Album Is Available World-Wide
Album Is Collaboration of Syn Founder Steve Nardelli and Members of Moon Safari
March 25th, 2016, London, UK – The latest studio album from The Syn (titled “Trustworks”) is now available worldwide. The album is a collaboration between Syn founder Steve Nardelli and the Swedish progressive rock band Moon Safari. It is available at both brick and mortar stores and online music retailers in physical and digital formats.
Formed in 1965, The Syn was a precursor of the band Yes, with that band’s former bassist (the late great Chris Squire) as one of the founding members. At various times The Syn has also included Yes alums Peter Banks and Alan White in their lineup. Other acclaimed musicians like Francis Dunnery, Brett Kull and Tom Brislin are also Syn alum. The 2016 version of The Syn features band founder Steve Nardelli joined by renowned Swedish prog rockers Moon Safari. Jonas Reingold of The Flower Kings produced the album.
The first review of Trustworks was recently published at wormwoodchronicles.net/torture-chamber/the-syn-2. In the review, Colonel Angus says, “’Trustworks’ does not disappoint. Although I would categorize The Syn as progressive, their music really harkens back to a style that mixes The Beatles, early Pink Floyd, and early Yes (naturally).” He also said, “Nardelli is the star on ‘Trustworks’. His voice and song writing is what shines making this release a “must buy” for any fans of The Syn or Yes. ‘Trustworks’ will probably last longer than a few weeks in my CD player and I trust it will do the same for you.”
In a review at theprogmeister.com, The Progmeister also had great things to say about Trustworks. “Trustworks may not slap you round the chops on first listening but when it does you may well find yourself playing it to death!” As he delved deeper into his review, he called the album, “Nine tracks of quality song writing, production and great music.” He continued by saying, “What more could you ask for? Steve Nardelli surpassed himself here not only writing some great songs but choosing topics of substance to write about. The album is all about achievement against the odds built on loyalty, endeavour and trust.” He summed up his review with, “As you may be able to tell, Trustworks really did float my boat (that’s the last of the biblical references, promise) and would consider this a tenner well spent.”
In a combination review and interview published at progarchy.com Paul Watson said, “Suffice to say both these bands bring a lot of their own sounds to the table, and dare I say a smorgasbord is clearly in the offering making this an interesting recording. Steve provides vocals and great lyrics once again with Moon Safari solid harmonies so distinct, just colouring these songs perfectly. Moon Safari delivers also on the guitars and keyboards and other instrumentations throughout.”
Recently, a new feature has appeared on the Syn at mwe3.com/archive/pastfeature/featureSyn2016.htm. It includes a new interview with Steve Nardelli by Robert Silverstein. In the interview Nardelli discusses the making of the album and talks about individual songs on the disc.
