The Syn’s Trustworks Vinyl Available July 15th
Album Is Collaboration of Syn Founder Steve Nardelli and Members of Moon Safari
July 6th, 2016, London, UK – A vinyl edition of The Syn’s much heralded Trustworks album will be released by Plane Groovy (planegroovy.com) starting July 15th. There will be a limited number of signed copies available through Burning Shed. They will be pressing just 500 copies; a single heavyweight vinyl album with pic/lyric insert.
Formed in 1965, The Syn is legendry as a precursor of the band Yes and beyond, with that band’s former bassist (the late great Chris Squire) as one of the founding reuniting members. At various times The Syn has also included Yes alums Peter Banks and Alan White in their lineup. Other acclaimed musicians like Francis Dunnery, Brett Kull and Tom Brislin are also Syn alum.
Trustworks is a collaboration between Syn founder Steve Nardelli and the Swedish progressive rock band Moon Safari. Jonas Reingold of The Flower Kings produced the album. The CD version has been acclaimed as an album of the year contender and is available now at both brick and mortar stores and online music retailers in physical and digital formats.
A new review was published at Sea of Tranquility (seaoftranquility.org). In it Duncan Glenday says this, “Combining the depth of The Syn's rich history with the fresh Swedish approach yields a full sound that is at once approachable, and unconventional. It's unfair to pigeon-hole Trustworks - but as a point of departure, imagine a vocal-rich third-wave / symphonic / neo blend. Nardelli's delivery of the meaningful lyrics is clean and easily understood.” He also said, “You might like this album on first spin. But you'll probably develop a deeper appreciation for it on each subsequent spin.”
In another new review (at The Progressive Aspect -progressiveaspect.net), Jez Rowden says, “…overall a very nice album that starts well and improves in the second half, Steve Nardelli has made the right choice in working with Moon Safari who give Trustworks their all.”
A reviewer going by the name “Time Lord” (at progarchy.com) said, “Trustworks, the new album from The Syn, is magnificent. It’s a very easy listen, but it hits all the right prog/rock pleasure points. It’s so smooth, you could even use it as ‘starter prog’ to get friends and loved ones hooked on the good stuff. It’s very soothing, but yet full of subtle musical skills.” The reviewer also said, “Do yourself a favor and get this album. It’s worth the price of admission simply for ‘Seventh Day of Seven’ alone. But everything else is a bonus, and everybody will find a fave bonus track to dig.”
In addition to the above selection of multiple reviews, Trustworks was chosen as a first ever new featured album at www.progressiveears.org. It has been reviewed at Wormwood Chronicles (wormwoodchronicles.net), The Progmeister (theprogmeister.com), Music Street Journal (musicstreetjournal.com) and many more including mwe3.com and progarchy.com. The album has been generating airplay on both terrestrial and internet radio and Steve Nardelli has done a series of worldwide on-air interviews, too. A new video for the song “The Wheel” and also “Revolution Now” was created by prog royalty “Her Majesty at the gate.” Featuring the lyrics and cats (it’s the Internet, it has to have cats, right?), the videos take a lighthearted approach to prog and live at: https://youtube.com/watch?v=XHm12xZcV48 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffw95XckmT4
