ScienceNV Will Release Video for “Titan”
The Song Comes from Last Album Before the End of Time
July 11th, 2013, San Francisco, California – Drawing its title from one of the moons of Saturn, the song “Titan” by ScienceNV is about to get video treatment. The song is one of the pieces featured on their latest album, Last Album Before the End of Time. The song itself is included on the album both as part of a suite entitled “The Ring Cycle” and also as an individual song. It was released as a digital single leading up to the album release. The video itself, consistent with the use of retro themes on the album packaging, makes use of an old Japanese sci-fi epic, complete with aliens, spaceships and monsters.
At Music Street Journal, Jason Hillenburg said this of the song: “As a single track, the ‘Titan’ movement works as a superb rock track capable of standing alone. There's really no other moment on this album when ScienceNV consistently flexes their latent power to rock like this track. The song has tremendous immediacy. It grabs you and doesn't let go.” At Wormwood Chronicles Dr. Abner Mality wrote, “’Titan’ is the heaviest tune on the disc...very riffy and guitar-based, reminiscent of old Rush.”
In a user review at Music Emissions, Larry Toering said of the single, “ScienceNV go harder on this digital single and it works in every way, with all of the spacey synth to perfectly contrast a searing guitar bite…It comes highly recommended because it has everything from a hard rock edge to a prog groove and even a slight jazz fusion vibe.” Scott Prinzing said this about the single at Music Street Journal, “If this single is representative of the overall sound and quality of musicianship, I will be searching out more of their material. The instrumentation of guitar, bass, drums and keyboards seems straight-forward, but manages to achieve symphonic levels without synthesizing strings and horns. There aren’t too many solely instrumental bands that can hold my attention for long, but this three-and-a-half minute work really packs a punch…The greatness of this single is represented in the composition and arrangement rather than virtuosity of soloing…I have listened to it three or four times and now it’s stuck in my head. This is a good sign for a single – especially one that doesn’t have a real commercial hook.”
Headquartered in San Francisco, California, ScienceNV was formed in 2005 by Larry Davis (guitar and bass guitar), David Graves (keyboards), Jim Henriques (guitar and keyboards) and Rich Kallet (drums). ScienceNV released their debut album, Really Loud Noises in 2008 with the second Pacific Circumstances coming in 2010.
