05/08/2020 - Important - Music Street Journal Link Update
I have been waiting to post anything about this, but it's been two weeks now. I figure that it's well past time.
Two weeks ago tomorrow Lulu.com did an "upgrade" on their site. I've seen some screw-ups with roll outs, but nothing like this before. The site still isn't back to 100 percent functionality two weeks later. I have had a ticket out to support for almost that length of time, but they are so innundated with support emails, that I still have not heard back.
What this means. Well, all the links for the Lulu store are lulu.com/strangesound. For now that no longer works. I have been trying to find out if it's permanent or not, but, again, I have not gotten a response to my ticket. I have business cards with that address and literally thousands of links that will need to be changed if it is permanent, so as you might guess, I've been putting that off until I know for sure.
So, in the meantime, this link should work - lulu.com/spotlight/strangesound. Mind you, they've redone the spotlight page, making it pretty ungainly. So, for books other than the Music Street Journal ones, I suggest following the direct link to book purchase pages included as pinned post on all the appropriate facebook pages. I should also note, one of the Music Street Journal books - I believe the October issue, wound up showing the cover for someone else's book. I think that's just as it shows online and will print correctly, but, again I can't get an answer from their support team to know for sure. So, for now, I would not buy that book.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I'm weighing options at the moment. If I decide to stay with Lulu (leaning that way for a number of reasons, including the fact that if I move a lot of books will wind up permanently out of print) I think I will set up a website to function as a better online store which will link directly to the books at both Lulu and Amazon for purchase.
By the way, if you notice the prices are higher, Lulu removed the option to set discount percentages, so all the books are now the same price there as they are everywhere else.
