EVENT DESCRIPTION
On Friday, October 28th, Maze Books will be hosting four horror authors for a live reading of spooky stories at its Rockford, Illinois store from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Authors include Dan Klefstad (Author & WNIJ Broadcaster), Gary Hill (Author & Paranormal Enthusiast), MK Davis (Author) and Maze Bookstore owner Dave Pedersen. There is no cost to attend. Mature themes may be discussed.
AUTHOR BIOGRAPHIES
MK Davis is an Army Veteran and writer, currently working towards his MFA in Creative Writing at Northwestern University. His work was recently published in Cold Hard Type and the Poet’s Choice fiction imprint, Free Spirit.
Gary Hill is a publisher, author, and paranormal enthusiast from Rockford, Illinois. Hill has published more than three dozen books including a series on Rockford Illinois cemeteries (Rockford's Final Resting Places), Spooky Rockford and Spooky Rockford Two, Spooky Berwyn, Spooky Berwyn Two and Spooky Stateline.
Dan Klefstad is a longtime radio host and newscaster at NPR station WNIJ. His latest novel,
Fiona’s Guardians, is about humans who work for a beautiful manipulative vampire named
Fiona. The book was adapted by Artists’ Ensemble Theater for their Mysterious Journey
podcast. In October, 2022, Fiona’s Guardians will be released in a hardback edition with new
chapters. Dan writes in DeKalb, Illinois.
David W. Pedersen is an author and poet from Rockford, Illinois. His written work was most recently published in Loose Dog Press, and Chicago’s Agitator Gallery. He is the owner and operator of the Rockford’s independent bookstore, Maze Books, and a current Poetry and Prose graduate student at Northwestern University. Pedersen is a third-generation US Army veteran and free speech activist.
